How it works
What's the difference to a free check-in app?
Most check-in apps stop at the tap. habebe adds what makes it work in real life: your family sets everything up for the person checking in — remotely, with nothing to configure on their side. Check-ins fit their routine: once a day, several times a day, or a rhythm of their own, such as every three days. If a check-in is missed, habebe reminds them first and then alerts your contacts one after another — up to eight people, so nobody carries it alone. And medication check-ins with reminders, health data and the emergency QR code all live in the same place.
When will I be notified — and how fast?
As soon as a check-in is missed. First, habebe reminds the person checking in. If the check-in still doesn't come, habebe notifies your contacts (with premium or family) — one after another, in the order you've set, until someone responds. You decide the check-in times together: one fixed time a day, several check-ins, or your own rhythm — for example, once every three days.
What happens if the battery is dead, the phone is off, or there's no internet?
habebe has an offline mode: the check-in works without an internet connection and is transmitted as soon as the phone is back online. And if the phone is off or the battery is dead? Then the check-in stays missing — and that's exactly when habebe steps in: once the check-in window has passed, your family is notified. A forgotten charging cable will, if in doubt, trigger one call too many rather than one too few. That's what habebe is for.
Is habebe easy to use?
Yes. The person checking in doesn't need to be good with technology: you can set everything up for them, even from far away. Only one task remains for them: tap once a day. Large text and simple controls are built in.
And during a trip or a hospital stay?
The check-in can simply be paused in the settings — anytime, with one tap. While it's paused, no check-in is due and nobody receives notifications. Back home, it's switched on again and everything continues as usual.

Who is habebe for?
For anyone who lives alone — and for the people who care about them. The classic case: a parent checks in, you receive the updates. But it works just as well for your partner, a friend, a neighbour, or your children living in another city. Everyone uses the same app: one person checks in, the others get the news. With habebe family, up to four people can check in — for example, both parents and the in-laws.
Who else can be involved?
With habebe family, up to eight family contacts receive the check-in — so you can share the responsibility with siblings, grandchildren or neighbours instead of carrying it alone.
What does the person checking in get out of it?
Their routine and their independence. One tap in the morning — and you're reassured, without check-up calls. Plus, they get reminders for their medications and have their health data in one place — handy at the doctor's, too.
Privacy & control
Who sees what?
You see the daily check-in — nothing more. No location, no camera, no feed. Health data is only visible to people who were explicitly given access — and only the fields that are shared. The health profile belongs to the person who checks in: they decide every single field.
Does the person checking in stay in control?
Yes. Every field of the emergency card can be switched on or off individually, and the link and QR code expire after a period they choose — and can be deactivated or extended at any time.
What happens in an emergency?
First responders scan the QR code on the lock screen and see exactly the data that has been shared — like blood type, allergies, and who to call. The person checking in is informed about every access.
What happens with the data?
It stays in the EU, stored in Germany, and habebe is GDPR-compliant (in Germany: DSGVO). No ads, no data selling, no sharing with AI services. The scan history shows the date, time and IP address of every access to the emergency card. The account can be deleted at any time, directly in the app — and all its data is permanently deleted with it.

Does one subscription cover the whole family?
Yes — one subscription, the whole family. It applies to all connected members, no matter who signs up. Example: you subscribe to habebe premium, and your mother and the other connected family contacts automatically use all premium features. The person checking in doesn't need their own payment method.
